Here is the full discussion with minor edits. The video runs about 1 hour, 30 minutes. It's worth it. Mel Disselkoen brings a wealth of knowledge and many many years of beekeeping through modern day trials and tribulations. Mel also heightens our awareness of factors that are contributing to the death of our honey bees. This production may be freely distributed in hopes that it reaches as many beekeepers (new and seasoned) as possible. The Southeastern Indiana Beekeepers wish to extend our sincerest thanks to Mel Disselkoen for visiting us and sharing this intimate discussion.

A few notes before watching

First, the beginning of the video has some bad lighting... whe nthe lights are turned down, the quailty is significantly improved. Be patient.

Second, Mel sure has some great analogies that are not only good for beekeeping... but for life in general. See below some time slots to jump to for this wisdom:

  • at 1:00 - 10 minutes of Q&A with Mel.
  • at 12:25 - Lessons not just for beekeeping, but for life.
  • at 16:45 - Mel's starts his presentation
