SUMMARY:SIBA Monthly Meeting - Creamed Honey
DESCRIPTION:Robin Montag will present the process and needs of making creamed honey. Creamed honey is also known as spun honey or whipped honey and has a smooth\, spreadable consistency due to controlled crystallization. Those of you who already make creamed honey\, please feel free to add to the conversation and even bring samples of your own if you like! After Robin's presentation\, with the busy season just around the corner\, we will have a roundtable to discuss questions and concerns as a group. So bring your questions and we'll see everyone there! \nIf you've missed a previous newsletter\, find them all archived here. \nSIBA Meetings occur the 3rd Thursday of each month through the year with topics being added to the event ahead of each meeting. Meetings are held at 6:30pm at the Sunman American Legion unless otherwise stated ahead of time in the newsletter and website. We're also looking for volunteers to help make the club GO. DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED\n\n2023 Bee School will be held on February 25th\, 2023 at Horizon Convention Center in Muncie\, Indiana. We have two Plenary speakers and several of Indiana's own speakers.  For more information about our guest speakers\, see the right hand side of this page "Who are our Guest Speakers?". \nAlong with our Plenary Speakers\, sessions and discussions will be held for beekeepers with any level of skill\, experience or ability. Some of the confirmed speakers and topics are: \n\nPlanning on ordering a package this year?  Steve Doty will be teaching a class with important information about installing packages.\nWonder why the drones are important in a hive?  You can listen to Garett Slater explain all about drones.\nLifetime member\, Michael Chanley will be presenting on "How to Grow Your Business Using Social Media"\nYes\, we have another generation of Shenefields making his debut as a speaker\, Derek Shenefield\, on "Maximize Your Honey Production"\nWant to know how to make your own Pollen feeder or Swarm Traps or 101 other gadgets?  Come listen to Mike Champlin as he explains the many things he has built or makes.\nWhat are the changes for selling honey in Indiana?  Jeff Abshear will be explaining the new law that went into affect July 2022.\n\nTopics on introductory beekeeping tools and techniques\, as well as learning opportunities for the more advanced beekeeper will be available.  Along with a great program\, we'll have our raffle\, live auction and silent auction again.  We also have a newly designed shirt along with our standard designs.  Many vendors will be on-hand with a variety of  displays and supplies\, see the list below. \nRegistration is now closed
