DESCRIPTION:At our March meeting\, SIBA founding member Garry Reeves will present “My Journey into Beekeeping: The Good\, the Bad\, and the Ugly.” Garry has grown his operation to more than 200 hives and brings decades of hands-on experience to the table. With healthy\, prolific honey-producing bees\, he’s truly seen it all—successes\, setbacks\, and plenty of hard-earned lessons along the way. Garry will share the mistakes he’s made\, what he’s learned from them\, and practical tips and insights that beekeepers at any stage can take back to their own apiaries. This is a talk you won’t want to miss. 🐝 \nIf you've missed a previous newsletter\, find them all archived here. \nSIBA Meetings occur the 3rd Thursday of each month through the year with topics being added to the event ahead of each meeting. Meetings are held at 6:30pm at the Sunman American Legion unless otherwise stated ahead of time in the newsletter and website. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Bee Barn for demonstrations and discussions about swarm traps. A useful beekeeper tool\, learn from Jim Orem how to build one\, set one up and where to locate it in relation to your hives\, and how to maintain it throughout the season. \nHear from Mike Champlin about his technique for hanging swarm traps where he uses a unique hanger style to lift traps into trees. \nDon Burkhart will be here as well to demonstrate how to install swarms from a trap into their new home. He will also have library books to borrow\, along with the trapped swarm list for anyone interested to sign up. \nIf you see a sign "The Ark Farm and Kennels" you are at the right place.
