We meet back at Garry's workshop. Garry Reeves will be telling us how to evaluate queen bees. We all know that while the queen really doesn't rule the hive, it still takes a vigorous, healthy queen to make the best hive. Bring your veils!

Garry Mullen will bring in a 10-frame Langstroth hive where he uses a division board to reduce it to the size of a nuc and then expand the box as needed.

Mark Montag will talk about grafting queens at home in our June meeting. We plan to do a hands-on grafting workshop at Garry’s that following Saturday. 

Gary Mullen will lead the topic on varroa mites! The varroa mite is a beekeepers biggest concern and 80% of colony failures can be attributed to the varroa mite. This is an important topic and one we hope you don't miss.

Dr. Mike Bentz will be presenting the topic small hive beetle (SHB) and honey labeling guidelines. Two things that are timely as ever.

Dave Broxterman will lead a topic on overwintering nucs.

Chris Whipple from Diversified Services will be discussing a new Apiculture insurance program.

Jason Morgan will cover the topic of making and using candy boards over the winter.
